Big Press Training
Learn to use the largest press in Rhode Island.
Sundays in April, dates TBD
Instructors: Kate Aitchison and Allison Bianco.
Kate Aitchison’s artwork focuses on human interventions in the natural landscape especially those related to watersheds and dams. Her most recent work, River Mile Zero (ii) is a five panel monotype printed on the large Takach press at AS220, which is currently on display at the Granoff Center at Brown University.
Allison Bianco is a printmaker who uses a combination of intaglio and screen print to depict landscapes diminished by massive oceans and infinite skies. Recent works include the expansive Pouring on Jamestown, that pictures the eastern side of Conanicut Island in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, diminished by a massive expanse of ocean below. Pouring on Jamestown was printed on the large Takach press at AS220 Community Printshop.
