Introduction to Audio Recording

  • 12000

Produce quality voice recordings for music, podcasts, and voice over!

In this workshop, we will explore the recording process at AS220 Industries' media lab and editing suite, available for public use upon completion of this workshop. By the end, you'll gain skills to setup, record, edit, and export projects.

This workshop is intended for media artists, actors, narrators, singers, and podcasters who want to make quality voice recordings on a low budget in their homes or in our community space. We'll balance theoretical concepts with practical techniques to help you approach your future projects.

Basic computer skills are required, and general understanding of audio is helpful, but not necessary. We use Apple's Garageband software as well as Reaper, a free software like Audacity (but better!) available for Mac and PC. We have seven workstations in the media lab and a private editing suite with up to date equipment and software.  Students who wish to use their laptops should have Garageband or Reaper software downloaded and up to date.
